Onlangs werd WordPress tot het beste open source CMS van 2009 verkozen. Een keuze die voor ons niet als een verrassing kwam. We maken al een tijdlang gebruik maken van dit mooie pakket en zijn tevens actief om het verder door te ontwikkelen.
Het ontwikkelen van WordPress plugins is bij Ontwerpstudio Trendwerk in volle gang, en we komen al aardig in de richting om van WordPress een nog completer CMS te maken. Een eerste plugin hiervoor stellen we nu gratis beschikbaar en is te downloaden op plugins.trendwerk.nl. Deze plugin stelt de gebruiker in staat om meerdere secties met inhoud aan zijn pagina toe te voegen, zogeheten Multiple Content Blocks.
Multiple Content Blocks
Deze Multiple Content Block plugin stelt de webdesigner in staat om sites te ontwikkelen die meer dynamiek kunnen bevatten dan met de standaard editie van WordPress mogelijk is. Inhoud kan nu op meerdere plekken op de pagina worden toegevoegd, en er verschijnen meerdere editors, 1 per blok inhoud. Deze aanpassing maakt het voor de webdesigner makkelijker verschillende blokken met inhoud te maken. Met deze aanpassing blijft de gebruiksvriendelijkheid echter bestaan, en hoeft de gebruiker niet met HTML of vreemde opmaakcodes te werken.

Sorry I can’t write in Dutch, although I can read it a little.
I’m using the Multiple Contents plugin, and it’s very impressive, but I’ve got one problem.
I’m finding that occasionally (enough to be unacceptable) when editting page content the new lines (p and br tags) are lost.
Checking in the database the way it should be working seems to be thus:
- that when reading the record off the database wp_postmeta table it should convert hex 0D 0A (c/r, n/l) into br and p tags.
- when displaying the edit field these p and br tags are shown as newlines in the text version of the display, but it suppresses the br tags in the html version. Sometimes however this seems to fail, and the newlines are not shown and the br and internal p tags are therefore lost.
- when I press update. it saves the edit field with p and br tags replaced by hex 0D 0A. If however the newlines have been lost at the display stage, then the text is written back with no newlines in it.
Do you have any suggestions where to start looking?
